Ben Stevens: English, married to a Japanese national and a 33-year-old father of one. I live, and work as a caretaker, at my brother-in-law's temple (BIL is the head priest) in Nagasaki City. Photo left taken of me just outside temple main hall.

My experiences in Japan (since first coming here in 2003) have led me to write A Gaijin's Guide to Japan, published by The Friday Project/Harpercollins, which is packed full of fascinating facts concerning the Land of the Rising Sun.
From Lee to Li , my second book, is an extensive A-Z guide to leading martial artists throughout history. (I began judo aged seven, which I continue to 'enjoy' practising.)
On this site are some extracts from A Gaijin's Guide to Japan and From Lee to Li. My blog is about all manner of things that interest me, such as Japan and the Far East in general, the martial arts, music, books, sushi etc. (03/10: I have not posted any entries over the past few months because of all the spam I keep getting. Also, I can't really be arsed.)
